Review/Critique: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Hello everyone! I apologize, this one took a long time, and I wanted to make it as good as I can since I had a lot to say about this one. In addition, I'm finishing up my picks for February, and will be releasing my picks for March as soon as possible! Now then, let's get into my review/critique of The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time. The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time Review Note: The first (and likely most important) thing I should say before I begin this review is that I played the N64 edition of this game. I had access to the 3DS version, but I saw no reason to ever play the N64 version if I had played the remake. I wanted to get the true classic N64 experience since that is the version that majority of people have played, and I am incredibly happy I made this choice. I had to order a copy since I did not have one, and now it looks awesome in my N64 collection. Keep this in mind for my review! Many things I will say may have been fixed in the remake a

Review/Critique: Don Quixote

Hello everyone! Today I will be reviewing the book " Don Quixote " written by Miguel de Cervantes. This review will be structured incredibly similarly to the film review, so no preface necessary. I apologize for taking a while to get this one out, I've been quite busy with life stuff. That aside though, let's begin the review! Don Quixote Review Expectations: I am going to be upfront in saying that I believe my expectations for this book likely hampered my enjoyment of it. It's hard not to be influenced in some ways when this book is so often touted as the first modern novel. This is definitely an exceptional book that might have more influence on modern literature than any book in existence; however, it does not mean it was all that enjoyable to me. Review/Critique: Now I also have to be upfront about one other thing, which is that I only finished the first book of two. The first book alone was 500 pages long and since other series are split

Review/Critique: The Shawshank Redemption

Hello everyone! Today I will be reviewing the movie " The Shawshank Redemption " directed by Frank Darabont. Now like with my review of "The Dark Side of the Moon ", before I get into this review I wanted to talk a little bit about the format regarding how I tackle films in comparison to other pieces of media. With albums I stated that I would only be doing a review, and would not have any critique. This was because I don't feel confident in my ability to actually critique an album in comparison to other mediums. For film I will have a section for review/critique and then my recommendation. Unless I feel the need to go into critical analysis, I will try and keep my film reviews/critiques concise. With that out of the way, here are my thoughts on " The Shawshank Redemption ". The Shawshank Redemption Review Expectations:  " The Shawshank Redemption " was the piece of media that I was most looking forward to consuming this m

Review: The Dark Side of the Moon

Hello everyone! As you can probably tell from the title, today I am going to be going over my thoughts on the album "The Dark Side of the Moon " by Pink Floyd. Now before I get started I wanted to talk a little bit about the format regarding how I tackle albums in comparison to other pieces of media. Unlike other pieces of media, albums will not have a "critique" section. There are many reasons for this, but the most important is that I do not feel well versed enough in musical theory or musical history to give an accurate "critique" so to speak. Because of this the length of my album reviews will be the shortest of the bunch, and will mainly be opinion pieces. They will include my rating, my expectations, my thoughts, and my standout tracks. With that out of the way, here are my thoughts on "The Dark Side of the Moon ". The Dark Side of the Moon Review Expectations: If there is one thing I can say about "The Dark Side of

Picks: February

Hey everyone! I meant to get this out a couple days ago but I decided to attend Genesis 6 this weekend which took priority over releasing my picks for February. With that all said and done I'm incredibly excited to share with all of you my picks for February! For anyone who didn't read my picks for January post, let me explain some of the rules. First off the theme is love . For my picks I am not allowed to choose anything I have already completed and I must give a bit of an explanation behind all of my picks. This means that if your favorite album, movie, book, or game is not picked just keep in mind that there is a chance I have already completed it. In addition at the end of this post, after all of my picks, I will include one recommendation. Alright now that you know that let's get into it! Album: Loveless Artist: My Bloody Valentine Why I chose this album:  What better way to kick off the list than with an album whose title indicates the opposite of t

Review/Critique: A Hat in Time

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to give a bit of insight into how many of the reviews and critiques will be structured going forward, by reviewing a game I recently completed "A Hat in Time"! Now of course not every medium's reviews and critiques will be approached in the same way as my level of competency in each medium is very different, and the mediums themselves vary wildly. This should still however, let you all see how these reviews/critiques will be structured going forward, and give you a little taste for what's to come in the next month. Sorry this came out a day later than I planned, meaning my "Recommendations for February" post will come out February 2nd, and my "Picks for February" post will come out February 3rd, with the reviews/critiques for my January picks to follow shortly after. With that out of the way, let's get into the review! A Hat in Time Review          For anyone unfamiliar with this title, &qu
